ROBERT T. SNOWDEN, M.D.

Robert T. Snowden is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in reconstructive and joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee.

A sixth generation Southerner, Dr. Snowden was born in central Florida, not far from the land homesteaded by his Mississippi grandfather in the 1920's. He grew up in Jacksonville, but returned to DeLand to attend Stetson University. He obtained his MD degree from Vanderbilt University, where he was a Justin Potter Scholar. His post-doctoral training in Orthopaedic Surgery and total joint replacement was done at the John Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, Maryland. he served two years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps before moving to Pensacola to begin practice.

He has been practicing Orthopaedic Surgery in Pensacola for more than thirty years, specializing in reconstructive joint surgery of the hip and knee. During that time, Dr. Snowden has performed several thousand total joint replacements. He has spoken before professional groups at the state and national level, as well as local community audiences, on topics pertaining to arthritis surgery and joint reconstruction. Since 1996, he has been listed in the national publication, "The Best Doctors in America".
